What is the role of a Mess Mistress/Mess Mister?

Benefits to camp:

    A Mess Mistress/Mess Mister helps camp life run smoothly.

    It is on a volunteer basis

    It is for a specific event.

The role of the mess mistress is to:

v   Ensure 1812 wares get put away and or covered up around fly.

v   Be a go to person at camp for that event: for information or decisions as deemed necessary. Example, coordinate the meals.

If group meals are being prepared;

v   Inform the group at morning orders the time of the meals for that day

v   Where will the meal be served?

v   When is the meal to be served?

v   Make sure people clean up and put away leftovers.

Planning a mess at Fanshawe's Cafe?

If the event is to involve alcohol, the unit must secure an SOP from the LCBO at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
